Update Notes

V1.04

Fix List –

  1. Changed to using a manual setup procedure instead of runonce service – this seems to correct ssh/overclocking issues. Be sure to read updated instructions on Download page.

V1.03

Fix List –

  1. Reverted back to Ubuntu-Gnome 16.04.2 as the base image. This appears to resolve several of the random overclocking, ssh, and other issues users have been experiencing since I moved to 16.04.3.
  2. Modified runonce script to allow additional time to complete first boot setup.

V1.02

Fix List –

  1. Went back to nvidia-375 driver as several users had issue with overclock not consistently applying even without miner running. Stability seems to not change much either. If you are in need of nvidia-384 due to having a GP106 card, Im going to provide instructions shortly on how to install it.
  2. Added additional monitoring to main page that will alert user if a mining process crashes or is killed for any reason – this is especially helpful with EWBF, even if you dont see a hashrate (due to log update time), if the miner process crashes you will get a message advising of such immediately.
  3. Updated initialization page to allow user to change “miner” local password (for USB image release)
  4. Added fail2ban – this provides increased security by banning any ips that try to login multiple times unsuccessfully to the miner via ssh.
  5. Found bug where GPUs 7 and 8 were indexed the same in the power script, fixed.

V1.01

Fix List –

  1. Resolved issue where system was able to be initialized before install of all components completed resulting in several critical components (primarilly ssh) not being installed.
  2. Now using nvidia-384 driver, in testing tends to be more stable, less issues with overclock, and supports the new GP106 mining cards – hashrates appear to be the same.
  3. Nouveau driver is blacklisted – should not load now under any circumstance. This should resolve the blackscreen issue for people trying to install with a monitor not on the nvidia GPU, however, I have not been able to test this for certain.
  4. Resolved cuda dependency that was causing some installs to hang.
